Box Score SALEM, VA – No. 12 Roanoke used a 10 goal second quarter en route to a 25-14 men's lacrosse victory over Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon in Salem, VA.
R-MC (9-6 / 3-3 ODAC) got a goal from Brian Rowe 59 seconds into the game to take an early 1-0 advantage.
RC's (10-3 / 5-1 ODAC) Reid Mayberry then scored three consecutive goals as part of a 6-0 run for the Maroons to end the opening quarter.
A Mike Hayden man-up goal 35 seconds into the second quarter made it 7-1 RC, before Rowe scored on a pass from Jason Papas to make it 7-2 13:03 to play in the half.
Roanoke then scored three goals in just over a minute following Rowe's goal to take a 10-2 lead.
Randolph-Macon got goals from Tim Rowe and another from Brian Rowe in the second quarter, but Jeff Keating tallied three strikes in the final 4:28 of the half to send Roanoke to the locker room up 16-5.
Brian Rowe finished the day with four goals for R-MC, while Tyler Midwinter and Tim Rowe each had hat tricks.
Randolph-Macon closes out its regular season next Saturday at 12:00 pm when it hosts Washington & Lee.
