Box Score Annville, PA – The Randolph-Macon College Men's Lacrosse team picked up its first road win of the season with a 13-4 victory over Lebanon Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
R-MC (2-1) got a hat trick from Brett Austin, who now has eight goals in his last two games. Tim Rowe, Patrick Egan and Tyler Midwinter all had a pair of goals for the Yellow Jackets.
BK McCaskill, Jason Andrews and Sherif Dorghoud all grabbed five ground balls to help R-MC hold a 43-30 advantage in that area. In goal, Jason Crawford turned away eight shots on the day.
The game was scoreless for most of the first quarter before Andrews struck for a tally at the 2:50 mark. Josh Merwin doubled the R-MC lead with 1:26 to go before LVC (0-1) got its first goal 25 seconds later.
Randolph-Macon scored all three goals in the second stanza with Egan scoring a goal with 7:12 on the clock and again at 5:43, giving R-MC a 4-1 lead.
Rowe struck again with just 1:04 to go in the half to send the Jackets to the locker room up 5-1 at the intermission, while Midwinter got the second-half scoring going with a goal set up by Austin at the 11:23 mark.
With the score 7-3 after three quarters, Austin tallied back-to-back goals in the fourth to extended the R-MC lead to 9-3 with just under 11 minutes to play.
Alex Beard scored to pull the Dutchmen within five at 9-4, but R-MC reeled off four goals in the final seven minutes to seal win.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Goucher for a 1:00 p.m. game
