Box Score 2 ASHLAND, Va--- Randolph-Macon College Softball opened its season with two wins over Frostburg St. Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets won game one, 11-6 and took game two with a score of 12-0.
R-MC has now topped Frostburg four straight times.
In game one, FSU jumped out to an early lead with two homeruns in the top of the first, capped by a two run shot by Megan Foy. R-MC responded with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning to tie the score.
With the score tied at six, R-MC used a five run sixth inning to take the victory. Freshman Jasmine Cousins picked up the win on the hill for the Jackets.
In game two, Randolph-Macon used a gem of a pitching performance and the long ball to take down Frostburg State. Sharese Jarvis went deep twice, hitting her first two career homeruns and Heather Lewis also went yard for the first time in her career to help the Yellow Jackets cruise to victory. Jarvis also added a double to her stellar day at the plate.
Lewis recorded the win on the mound for the Jackets, pitching a two-hit shutout.
R-MC is back in action tomorrow when it squares off with Dickinson in a double-header. Game one is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
