Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- Randolph-Macon College Women's basketball fell to the WildCats of Randolph College 70-62 in ODAC action on Tuesday night.
R-MC (1-6, 1-2 ODAC) was led by freshman Katie Anderson who notched her second career double-double with 20 points and game-high 12 rebounds.
Sarah Parsons chipped in with 10 points, while Khajae Hester and Hannah Livermon both recorded eight points. Hester also pulled in four rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists. Kellie Cortina had seven rebounds to match her seven points.
A tightly contested first-half featured three ties as both teams battled back and forth, with neither able to build a substantial lead. Randolph (2-3 / 1-1 ODAC) took a 29-26 edge into the intermission after a Brandie Witt layup with seven seconds on the clock.
The WildCats opened up the second-half with a 15-2 run to increase their lead to 16 at 44-28 with 15:54 left to play.
The Yellow Jackets chipped away at the WildCat lead and pulled within three on a three-pointer by Livermon with 9:20 left in the game, but that was as close as they would get.
Brianna Lowry went 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in the final minutes of the game to secure the win for Randolph. Lowry finished the game with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Jensen Hoover finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while teammate Emilee Dunton chipped in eight points and a game-high six assists. Allie Druffel notched a team-high of 10 rebounds while contributing eight points.
Randolph-Macon was outrebounded 48-41 and was held to a 33.8% (24-for-71) shooting percentage, while the WildCats finished the night shooting 43.5%, making 27-of-62 shots from the field.
R-MC returns to action Thursday, December 6th as it travels to Marymount for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
