Box Score ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse team used a 12-0 run spanning the final minute of the first quarter to the opening minute of the fourth quarter as the Yellow Jackets topped visiting Guilford 18-3 Saturday afternoon.
R-MC (7-3 / 1-2 ODAC) was led by Brian Rowe who had five goals on the day. Jake Leddy added a hat trick and had six assists as well, while Brett Austin added three scores for R-MC. Tyler Midwinter chipped in with a pair of goals and three assists as well.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first five goals of the game, with Leddy scoring with just under four minutes to go to go in the first quarter to make the score 5-0.
After Henry Farley got GC on the board with 1:57 to play in the first stanza, Patrick Egan found Rowe with 57 seconds left to make the score 6-1 and sparked the 12 goal run.
The run featured three goals by Rowe, three goals by Austin and a pair of goals from Leddy and Midwinter.
R-MC did not allow a shot in the second period to go up 11-1 at half time and scored five times in the third period to go up 16-1 after three.
The Jackets outshot the Quakers 47-13 and held a 44-23 advantage in groundballs.
GC (8-4 / 2-2 ODAC) got goals from Farley, Chris Ashcraft and Chase Clausen in the loss. Mark Guillen made 14 stops in net for GC.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to archrival Hampden-Sydney for a 4:00 p.m. ODAC contest.
