Bridgewater College used a four run tenth inning rally in game one and a three run seventh in game two to sweep Randolph-Macon Baseball 8-5 and 4-3 Saturday in Ashland.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 10-9 overall and 6-3 in the ODAC, the Eagles improve to 12-10 overall, 7-0 in the conference.

Jonathan Mason led the Eagles attack with a 6-for-10 day that included two doubles and five RBI. Andrew Hacker and Alex Nuttycombe had three hits apiece in game one.

In game one, the Jackets trailed 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth when Peter Culver and Brian Jordan led off the inning with singles before a Mitro sacrifice bunt plated Culver and advanced Jordan to second. Walton then delivered a two out RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.

Bridgewater responded in the tenth with four runs, three coming on a Mason double to right center.

Randolph-Macon pushed across one run in the bottom half but could not complete the comeback, falling 8-5.

James Bierlein is stuck with the loss after allowing no earned runs (4 unearned) in one inning on the bump. R-MC starter Jamie Hendrick tossed the first six innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out five. Dale Langford pitched three innings, allowing two earned and striking out two.

Tyler Milstead picks up the win after going two and two thirds, giving up two earned runs.

Bridgewater struck first in the third inning of game two when Kevin Kirk drove in Devon Snow with a single but Randolph-Macon answered back in the bottom half on a Mitro RBI fielder's choice.

The Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 lead in the fifth when Weymouth doubled down the left field line to score Bierlein.

BC rallied for three runs on three hits and an R-MC error in the top of the seventh. Mason singled home the Eagles only earned run after Dustin Arrowood scored on an error and Nuttycombe crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

Weymouth belted a solo homerun to right in the eighth inning to pull Randolph-Macon within one at 4-3.

Culver led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and then advanced to second on a Digby sacrifice bunt to put the Yellow Jackets in striking distance. Bierlein then reached on an error before a Jordan deep fly out to right put runners at second and third for Mitro. Mitro stepped to the plate and ripped a line drive down the right field line but the Eagles' outfielder Mason made a diving catch to save the game.

Helbig picks up the loss after allowing two earned runs over seven innings while striking out two. Kevin Chandler earns the complete game win, giving up three earned and striking out five.

Randolph-Macon now heads to Tennessee for spring break where they will face Rhodes on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:00. The Yellow Jackets will also take on Hendrix and Maryville before finishing the trip with an ODAC doubleheader at Emory and Henry on Saturday, March 26th at noon.
