The two teams traded baskets over the final minute before two foul shots from Bays sent Roanoke into the locker room for halftime with a 31-30 edge.
A Roy jumper started the second half scoring but the Maroons scored the next seven points, finished off with a Bays three point play that gave RC a 38-32 edge with 16:52 to go.

After Gholson converted both foul shots with 6.7 seconds to play, O'Briant sprinted her way up the far sideline in front of both teams' benches. The senior guard then heaved a shot at the basket that banked off the glass and through the hoop as the buzzer sounded.
The Yellow Jackets carried their momentum from O'Briant's game tying shot into the overtime period, scoring the first ten points to take a 73-63 edge on a pair of Roy free throws with 39 seconds left.
Porter hit a three on the next Roanoke possession but Randolph-Macon went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 30 seconds to secure the 2011 ODAC Women's Basketball Championship 77-68.
RC was paced by All-Tournament Team selection Gholoson who finished with 21 points and 14 boards. Fellow All-Tournament member Nicci Moats scored eight points and hauled in ten rebounds.
