Box Score Five Yellow Jackets notched double figure scoring as Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball (11-4 / 9-1 ODAC) defeated Randolph College 85-25 in Ashland Tuesday night.
Jennifer O'Briant knocked down a three pointer just five seconds in to spark the R-MC attack which went on to score the games' first seven points.
The WildCats answered with four straight points, three coming on a Rebecca Folden trifecta with 17:38 to go in the first half.
A Katie Williams three pointer 16 seconds later opened up a 21-4 run later capped by a Jordan Cantrell lay up to give the Jackets a 28-8 advantage halfway through the first stanza.
R-MC continued to build their first half lead on 61.8% shooting and a 5-of-9 mark from deep. Christina Phelps laid in a bucket on a Lindsey Sharman pass with 10 seconds to go in the first to make the halftime score 50-19.
Randolph-Macon picked up the defense in the second period and held Randolph to just six points on 2-of-21 shooting from the field. The Jackets led by as many as 62 before winning by a final of 85-25.
Taylor Wieczorek led the offense with 15 points and five rebounds. Cantrell finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, Molly Brown chipped in with 13 points and Sharman fell just shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. For the second consecutive game every Yellow Jacket on the roster notched the scoring column.
Shondria Hamlett dropped in a team high eight points for Randolph College.
R-MC held a 50-34 advantage on the boards and shot 49.3% for the game while recording a season high 17 steals.
Randolph-Macon returns to action Saturday, January 22nd when they host Bridgewater College for a 3:00 pm ODAC matchup.
