ASHLAND, VA – Nine different Yellow Jackets registered
goals as Randolph-Macon topped Randolph 21-4 in ODAC Men's
Lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Ashland.
R-MC (5-4 / 2-1 ODAC) scored the first 13 goals of the game
en-route to the victory. Patrick Egan scored two goals,
Taylor Wicke and Tyler Midwinter each scored once as R-MC jumped
out to a 4-0 lead in the first 3:45 of play.
The Jackets would add five more tallies in the first quarter,
taking a 9-0 advantage when Kevin Patton scored unassisted with
1:30 to play.
Patton opened up the second quarter scoring with a goal at the
12:54 mark. Wicke added two more goals in the second
including a man-up strike with 10:17 left in the half that put R-MC
up 13-0.
Stephen Allman got Randolph (0-9 / 0-3 ODAC) on the board,
making the score 13-1 with 6:24 to play in the half. R-MC
capped the first thirty minutes of play to take a 16-1 lead into
the locker room at intermission.
R-MC was led by Wicke who had five goals, while Rowe had four
tallies in the win. Jason Crawford played the final 45
minutes in net for R-MC, making nine saves.
TJ Story led Randolph with a pair of goals and Kevin McCraken
made 13 saves in the cage for the WildCats.
The Yellow Jackets outshot Randolph 58-17 and held a 50-27 edge
in groundballs.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it heads
to Lynchburg for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC game.
