SALEM, VA—Randolph-Macon starting pitcher Kyle Hicks was
selected as ODAC Pitcher of the Year in the conference's
yearly awards released Wednesday. Kevin Davis and Jay Lichter
joined Hicks on the All-ODAC First Team, Brian Jordan and Jeb
Weymouth earned Second Team honors while Jordan Walton picked up an
All-ODAC Honorable Mention
Kyle Hicks (Goochland, VA/ Goochland) buoyed the Yellow Jackets
pitching staff with a conference-best 2.15 earned run
average. In nine appearances (all starts), he went 6-2 in
54.1 innings of work. He allowed 51 hits and fanned 48
batters while only surrendering 11 free passes. He went six
or more innings in six of his starts on his way to a league-leading
6.04 innings pitched per nine innings. He threw a pair of
complete games and registered one shutout in a nine-inning gem
against Washington and Lee in which he struck out eight
Generals. He walked one and gave up six hits in that
contest. His .243 batting average against is second in the
ODAC. Hicks became the third Yellow Jacket under coach Ray Hedrick
to earn ODAC Pitcher of the Year honors. (Travis Beazley '06, Byron

Junior catcher Jay Lichter (Richmond, VA/ Varina) was named to
the All-ODAC First Team and led the Yellow Jackets with a .433
batting average which ranked fifth in the ODAC. Lichter posted a
.531 on base percentage which was the second best in the
conference. Jay belted two homeruns, 11 doubles and drove in 29
runs for R-MC this season.
Senior second baseman Kevin Davis (Hanover, VA/ Hanover) was
selected to the All-ODAC first team after batting a career high
.401 this season with nine doubles and also driving in 30 runs.
Davis' .401 batting average ranked 11th in the
ODAC and second for the Yellow Jackets.
Brian Jordan (Columbia, VA/ Goochland) played in all 34 games
for Randolph-Macon this season and posted a .380 batting average
with 11 doubles and 30 RBI. Jordan patrolled centerfield for the
Yellow Jackets and also struck out 15 batters in 10.2 innings on
the mound to earn All-ODAC Second Team honors.
Freshman outfielder Jeb Weymouth (Rockville, VA/ Hanover) joined
Jordan on the All-ODAC Second Team with a .382 batting average in
34 games. Weymouth spent most of the season batting third in the
lineup and contributed with four homeruns, 13 doubles, and 23 RBI.
Jeb's walk-off two run homerun in the eleventh inning sent
Randolph-Macon past Lynchburg College 8-7 during the regular
season.
Jordan Walton (Mechanicsville, VA/ Lee Davis) hit .370 on the
season with 12 doubles, three homeruns and a team high 37 RBI to
earn an Honorable Mention spot on the All-ODAC team. Walton's
37 RBI ranked fifth in the ODAC.
Randolph-Macon Baseball had an ODAC best six players selected to
the All-Conference team. The Yellow Jackets finished the 2010
season with an 18-16 overall record and a 12-6 ODAC mark.
