Box Score The Yellow Jackets shot 52.6% from the field including an 11-for-23 mark from three en route to a 97-30 win over Randolph Tuesday in Lynchburg. Jordan Cantrell led four players in double figures with a career high 26 points.
R-MC Freshman center Lindsay Sharman opened up the scoring with a layup just 18 seconds in to ignite a 10-0 opening run which was capped by Taylor Wieczorek jumper with 15:00 to go in the first.
Randolph cut the deficit to seven with a three from Lauren French but the Jackets' Cantrell answered with a quick three to go back on top by ten.
Randolph-Macon steadily built a 30 point advantage and Paige Mills capped the half with a steal and an assist to Cantrell who hit a layup at the buzzer to put the Yellow Jackets up 42-10 at halftime.
R-MC opened the second half on a 12-3 run that started with a Sharman layup and was finished off with a jumper from Molly Brown.
The Jackets continued to pull away and led by as many as 67 on the way to a 97-30 win.
Every player on the R-MC roster notched the scoring column as the Jackets' Cantrell went 9-for-12 from the field including a 5-for-6 mark from three to lead Randolph-Macon with 26 points. Maggie Roy dropped in 14 points and four assists. Wieczorek finished with 12 points and seven boards while Brown chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets shot 52.4% from the field including 11-for-23 from beyond the arc. R-MC held a 59-33 rebounding edge.
Randolph-Macon now travels to Daytona Beach, Florida for the Daytona Shootout where they will face Wisconsin –Eau Claire on Sunday, December 19th at 9:00 p.m.
