Balanced Scoring Attack Leads R-MC Past Hood 19-3 in
Men's Lacrosse Action

Frederick, Md. - Nine different R-MC players scored
goals as the Yellow Jacket men's lacrosse team defeated Hood
Wednesday 19-3. Kevin Patton led the way, tallying three goals and
five assists. Goalies Adam Liberto, Jason Crawford, and Ray
Wodarski combined for the second half shutout and registered 12
saves in sixty minutes of play.
It didn't take long for R-MC to get on the board. Junior
midfielder Billy Rowe scored the first two goals of the game,
finding the cage at the 13:01 and 9:01 marks in the opening
quarter. Freshman attackman Jake Leddy followed that by netting
three of the remaining four R-MC goals in the first stanza. JR
Sander, Kevin Patton, and Billy Rowe assisted on his tallies. Matt
Andes also registered an unassisted goal in the first fifteen
minutes of play. R-MC took a 6-1 lead at the end of the first
quarter.
Hood responded by scoring the first goal of the second quarter.
However, R-MC's Tyler midwinter, Patrick Egan, and Kevin Patton all
netted goals before halftime. The Yellow Jackets led 9-3 at the
break.
R-MC emerged from halftime determined to seal the victory. The
Yellow Jackets did just that, outscoring Hood 9-0 in the third
stanza. JR Sander opened the second half scoring by netting his
first tally of the season thirty seconds into the third quarter.
Rich Wilkens scored his first goal of the game with 13:17 remaining
in the quarter, and Brian Rowe netted three tallies in a 1:34 span.
R-MC led 18-3 entering the fourth quarter. After another Midwinter
goal ten seconds into the final quarter, the Yellow Jackets
possessed the ball for the remainder of the game.
Midfielders Patrick Nugent and Connor Barnes also registered
points for R-MC. Adam Liberto registered eight saves, Jason
Crawford tallied three, and Ray Wodarski made one save in the
Yellow Jacket cage. JR Sander won 14 of 22 faceoffs.
R-MC improves to 3-0, while Hood falls to 1-5. The Yellow
Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host Goucher at
2:00.
