ASHLAND, VA - St. Mary's (Md.) got six strong innings from
starting pitcher Barrett Enix and was able to withstand a late
rally by Randolph-Macon as the Seahawks took the final game of a
three-game set from the Yellow Jackets by the score of 6-4.
Enix allowed six hits over his six innings, did not allow a lead
off runner on, struck out five and walked a pair as he led SMC to
its first win of the season.

their first two hitters had been retired by R-MC starter Kurt
Brietmeyer. Jacen Killebrew drew a two-out walk, advanced to second
on a stolen base and scored on a Matt Baden single.
Baden would move to second on a stolen base then move to third
on a single by Mark Dattilio. Kyle Kralle singled to plate Baden
and Dattilio would score later in the inning on a wild pitch to put
the Seahawks on top 3-0.
St. Mary's tacked on single runs in the fourth and the six
inning before Mike Wallace got the Jackets on the board with a
towering, two run home run in the home half of the six, making the
score 6-2.
In the bottom of the ninth, James Bierlein and Jay Lichter
opened the frame with back-to-back homeruns, cutting the SMC lead
to 6-4 and chasing SMC reliever Stephon Dingle from the game.
Matt Siciliano then entered the game and walked Kevin Davis.
Siciliano rebounded to strike out Greg Mitro, then force out pinch
runner Dann Woods at second on a fielder's choice off the bat of
Greg Meleski and ended the game on a strike out of Charlie Hartt to
secure the save.
