R-MC Shuts Out Averett 11-0

Ashland, Va - Junior Kyle Hicks pitched seven innings of shutout ball, striking out four and yielding just four hits and one walk, as the Yellow Jackets defeated Averett 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.

J.C. Conway led the way for R-MC, hitting three-for-four with a homerun, double, and four runs batted in. Brian Jordan hit a double and triple in four at-bats and drove in a run, while Greg Mitro also hit two-for-four and tallied two runs and an RBI. Jeff Beck hit his first homerun of the season, a two-run shot.

John Walker picked up the loss for Averett.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Sunday at 10 AM at Guilford College to take on North Carolina Wesleyan. Randolph-Macon closes out the day at 2:30 at War Memorial Stadium against Greensboro.
