R-MC Volleyball Goes 2-2 at Battlefield
Invitational
GETTYSBURG, PA - The Randolph-Macon College
volleyball team wrapped up the Battlefield Invitational at
Gettysburg College with a 2-2 record after beating Neumann College
3-1 on Saturday morning before losing its final match of the
tournament to Elizabethtown 3-1.
R-MC (3-4) got 11 kills from April Hines
in the 26-24, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23 win over Neumann to go along with
nine kills from Maggie Horn. Savanna Love registered 19 assists,
while Sam Block complimented her with 16 helpers to go along with
three serving aces on the afternoon. Kendra Smith anchored the
defense with a pair of solo blocks and 12 assisted stops. Jill
Kubichan led the way with 22 digs in win.
In the loss to Elizabethtown, Horn knocked down 12 kills, while
Block and Love had 20 and 12 assists, respectively. Smith recorded
four solo and five assisted blocks in the loss, while Kubichan had
25 digs.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on
Tuesday when it travels to Chowan University for a 7:00 p.m. match.
