LYNCHBURG, VA - The
seventh-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team defeated
the visiting Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College 16-2 in Old
Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Wednesday night.
Peter LaPaglia and Tyler Watkins scored the two RMC goals with
Billy Rowe recording an assist. Netminder Adam Liberto made 10
saves for the Yellow Jackets. The Hornets outshot the Yellow
Jackets 48-22 and maintained a 42-25 advantage in groundballs.
Lynchburg won 15 of 21 face-offs, converted on three of five
extra-man opportunities, and was successful of 18 of 22 clear
attempts.
The Yellow Jackets (5-4/1-2 ODAC) held LC scoreless for much of
the first quarter, not allowing a goal until 6:09 left in the
first. LC would go on to score four goals the remainder of the
quarter. Leading the Hornets was Ryan Cranston with three goals and
two assists along with Stephen Weis' three scores and one
assist.
R-MC will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Washington
and Lee at home in Ashland at 1:00
p.m.
