SALEM, VA - No. 16 Roanoke College jumped out to an early lead
and never looked back as it topped Randolph-Macon College 19-7 in
ODAC Men's Lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Salem,
Virginia.
Roanoke scored the first six goals, each scored by a different
Maroon before R-MC got on board on a Tyler Watkins strike with just
over three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Randolph-Macon scored four of the next six goals, including two
off the stick of Peter LaPaglia in the final two minutes of the
first half to send the Jackets to the intermission down 11-5.
The Maroons came out of the break and scored six goals in the
third quarter to go up 17-5 and seal the game.
The Jackets were led by LaPaglia's two goals, while Watkins,
Billy Rowe, Zach Craft, Paul Johnsen and Rich Wilkens all chipped
in with one goal a piece on the day. R-MC keeper Adam Liberto made
22 saves in the loss for Randolph-Macon.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Wednesday when it
travels to No. 7 Lynchburg College for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC game.
