RALEIGH, N.C. – Randolph-Macon saw five different goal scorers in its 6-0 shutout on the road against the Avenging Angels.

How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon had an incredible start to the contest, as Janne Roelink (Den Helder, Netherlands/Norfolk Collegiate) found Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) for a goal just 2:19 into play. With the 1-0 advantage, Roelink went on to send two more shots on goal in the next four minutes but Lyla Burdine was able to make the stops. The pressure continued to build, as both Brenna McLean (Rock Hall, Md./Queene Anne's County) and Annie Pruitt (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) ripped shots on target. While they could not convert, Roelink was able to score on the following possession, extending RMC's lead to 2-0. The goal took place with 2:01 remaining in the frame and the Yellow Jackets held the lead through one.
- Olivia Greene (Amissville, Va./Culpeper County) fired a shot on goal just one minute into the second to continue RMC's momentum. Over the course of the next two minutes, McLean fired three shots with two on goal but Meredith was able steer the attempts clear. The Avenging Angels countered with a penalty corner 4:34 into the second but had their shot blocked by a Yellow Jacket. The home team earned another corner and registered two additional shots but the Lemon and Black defense held. Kylee Gorham (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) checked in and immediately tallied three shots, with the third attempt resulting in a defensive save from MC. Miley Slatter (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) put a shot on net which resulted in two penalty corners for her squad. The freshman was able to bury her first career goal, extending the advantage to 3-0 with the feed coming from Natalee Fortin (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside). The two programs each posted one more shot before halftime, which saw Randolph-Macon maintain a three-goal cushion.
- The Yellow Jackets worked for a penalty corner just 36 seconds into the third and two players posted shots that were blocked. Six minutes later, both McLean and Gorham put shots on goal, leading to two more that were sent wide. With 2:14 remaining in the third quarter, Randolph-Macon used an offensive barrage that included four shots on one penalty corner to capture a 4-0 lead. Both Sophia Lowry (Suffolk, Va./Hickory) and Nathalia McIntyre (Hampton, Va./Grafton) put shots on goal, but it was Natalie Moul (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) who found the back of the net, with Neely Winefordner (Glen Allen, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) and Dresler getting credited with the assist.
- Randolph-Macon was relentless to begin the fourth, as a shot on goal from Gorham was followed by a score from McLean, just 1:20 into the final period. Two minutes later, the team worked for two more penalty corners where RMC totaled three shots. While the Yellow Jackets did not cash in on the penalty corner, they were able to post their sixth goal of the afternoon with 4:36 left on the clock. Addy Wicker (Henrico, Va./Deep Run) located Roelink for her second score of the day, helping Randolph-Macon lock down a shutout victory.
