Geratowski Steps Down as RMC Women’s Lacrosse Coach

5/13/2026 9:59:00 AM

ASHLAND, Va. – MK Geratowski has resigned as head coach of the women's lacrosse team at Randolph-Macon College.

For the past 13 seasons, Geratowski has guided the Yellow Jackets to a record of 138-87, a winning percentage of .613. She is the winningest coach in program history. RMC has won 73% of its ODAC contests (76-28). The Yellow Jackets were 13-6 (.684) in 2026 and 41-17 (.707) over the past three campaigns.

"I am so grateful for the 13 years I have spent helping to build the Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse program," Geratowski said. "I have had the opportunity to work with resilient student-athletes, supportive alums, selfless assistant coaches, and inspiring colleagues. While this decision is bittersweet, I know that the program is in a great place for the next head coach to come in and make their impact on the already impressive history of Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse. I have so much respect for Randolph-Macon Athletics, and the college as a whole, and I consider myself lucky to have been a Yellow Jacket."

Under Geratowski, the Yellow Jackets reached the ODAC Championship Game six times, including five straight from 2015-19 as well as this season. In 2015, RMC matched the program record with 14 wins and Geratowski was voted ODAC, VaSID and RMC Hugh Stephens Coach of the Year. She was again named ODAC Coach of the Year in 2026.

Geratowski coached 72 All-ODAC players, including three Rookies of the Year and two Scholar-Athletes of the Year. She has worked with 19 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region selections. In 2017, Kristin Patrick '17 was named the national IWLCA Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

RMC has been an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad in each year that the award has been presented since Geratowski arrived on campus. She has had numerous Yellow Jackets named to the ODAC All-Academic Team and IWLCA Honor Roll. RMC received the IWLCA Team Community Awareness Award in 2014, 2015 and 2021. The team earned the RMC Athletics Community Service Award in 2022 and 2024 for their work in the community.

"MK's value to our department and to the student-athlete experience extends far beyond her remarkable success as a coach," said RMC Director of Athletics Jeff Burns. "Through her leadership as Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, she has been a trusted mentor, advocate, and role model whose impact is seen throughout the campus."

In 2019, Geratowski served as Tournament Director for the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse National Championship, played on Day Field on the RMC campus.  Geratowski was a member of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse National Committee from 2019-2023, serving as the chair in 2022-23.  She also served the greater lacrosse community as a member of the IWLCA Board of Directors from 2018-21.

For the near future, Geratowski will continue her duties as Assistant Director of Athletics at RMC, overseeing compliance and serving as Senior Women's Administrator.

A national search will be conducted for RMC's next women's lacrosse head coach.
