WILLIANMBURG, Va. – Randolph-Macon men's golf completed two rounds of play at the Golden Horseshoe and currently sits in 12th place in a 21-team field.
Kole Kohut (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) led the way for Randolph-Macon, as the sophomore went even during the first round, including two birdies in the final three holes. Kohut finished at +5 (147) through his 36 holes, as he added back-to-back birdies on the front nine in his second round. Currently, he leads the Lemon and Black on the leaderboard, currently sitting tied for 19th.
Ty White (Emporia, Va./Greensville County) was just behind, as he finished at a +7 (149), ranking him tied for 30th. The sophomore had three birdies in a five-hole span on the back nine in round one, before he recorded three total in his second round.
Charlie Wilkerson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) followed White, as he went +14 (156) during the afternoon. He was only +1 through the opening nine holes of play.
Joseph Winston (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) finished play at +18 (160). His second round saw a +6 from the freshman, good for his best 18 of the day.
Michael Schaal (Chapel Hill, N.C./Carolina Friends) rounded out his team with a +14 (156) during the afternoon, as he posted a +7 on each of his two rounds. His second round included two birdies, marking improvement from the first round.
The Lemon and Black continue play tomorrow at the Golden Horseshoe in the morning for the third round.
