WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Randolph-Macon men's golf completed the final round of the Sam Snead Intercollegiate and improved four spots to finish eighth in a 21-team field.
The Lemon and Black finished ahead of nine programs ranked in the top-50 and four teams in the top-30.
Charlie Wilkerson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) led the Yellow Jackets, as the sophomore fired a -2 (69) third round. He recorded an eagle on the 16th hole, adding three birdies and pars on 11 holes. The Midlothian native ended his two day tournament 28th as an individual at +9 (222).
Michael Schaal (Chapel Hill, N.C./Carolina Friends) improved fourteen spots as an individual on the final day, shooting an even par 71 in the last round. The junior ended the day with four birdies and pars on ten holes. Schaal completed his tournament in 55th place as an individual at +14 (227).
Ty White (Emporia, Va./Greensville County) shot even par on the front nine to begin his final round and finished at +3 (74) overall. The sophomore tallied two birdies and pars on 12 different holes in the round. White ended the tournament in 32nd as an individual, posting a three round score of +10 (223).
Joseph Winston (Richmond, Va./Douglass Freeman) matched his teammate White with a final round score of +3 (74). The freshman finished play with an eagle on hole 16, totaling five birdies and pars on five holes. Winston ended his three round tournament with an overall score of +21 (234).
Kole Kohut (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) rounded out the group with a final round score of +6 (77) with three birdies and nine pars. The sophomore landed in 36th overall as an individual, firing a total tournament score of +11 (224).
