LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has released its third in-season top 25 coaches poll, Randolph-Macon sits at 24th after a 4-2 week.
The Yellow Jackets played six games this past week, going 4-2 overall. Randolph-Macon defeated Greensboro in a mid-week doubleheader to begin the week. The team participated in the Margie Knight Softball Classic over the weekend, going 2-2, splitting games over the course of the two day tournament. Randolph-Macon currently sits at 10-6 overall on the season.
- Tori Powell (Freeman, Va./Mecklenburg County) went 9-for-17 (.529) with a home run, a double and recorded three RBIs.
- Mya Davis (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield) ended the week with two homers, going 5-for-12 (.417) overall at the plate. The sophomore added four RBIs, three walks, three hit by pitches and was 4-for-4 on stolen bases.
- Charlotte Boswell (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led the team in RBIs with six on the week, going 4-for-17 (.235) at the plate. The sophomore also scored five times, hit a triple and a double.
- Jacy Ramos (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette), Jordan Brown (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) and Katerina Brabson (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) all had four RBIs in the six game week.
- Sierra Kegley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) was elite in the circle for the Yellow Jackets, going 2-0 in three appearances on the week. The freshman tossed 18.0 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out 13 batters. She ended the week with two shutouts in both of her starts.
The #24 Yellow Jackets begin conference play on the road against Shenandoah on Thursday, March 19 and will end the week with a road matchup with #15 Christopher Newport on Sunday, March 22.
