ASHLAND, Va. – After winning two of its three matches this past week, including another two conference sweeps, the Yellow Jackets were picked at No. 12 in the first NPI poll of the 2026 season.
The Yellow Jackets started their week with a 3-0 win against Lynchburg. RMC pushed its all-time record against the Hornets to 3-0, as they have yet to drop a set to the ODAC rival. With the win, Randolph-Macon reached the 20-win mark in back-to-back seasons, marking the second time in program history they have reached the milestone.
Over the weekend, RMC hosted Randolph and Tusculum for a tri-match, in which the hosts only lost to the Division I Pioneers. Against Randolph, Randolph-Macon led in digs, kills, assists, blocks, aces and hitting percentage. With the victory, the Yellow Jackets improved to 9-0 in conference play, with each win coming via a sweep.
Randolph-Macon is 21-4 to start the season, marking their best record through the first 25 matches of a season in program history. Extending back to the 2025 regular season, RMC has won 27 of its last 31 matches. Furthermore, the program has won each of its 21 ODAC matches since joining the conference prior to the 2025 season.
This week, the Lemon and Black head to Virginia Beach, Va., where they will take on Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.
