Diamond Jackets Continues to Receive Votes in D3baseball/NCBWA Week Three Poll

ASHLAND, Va. – After putting together a 3-1 week, Randolph-Macon Baseball has been tabbed as receiving votes in the latest D3baseball/NCBWA poll, earning 27 total votes from Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country.
 
This past week, the Yellow Jackets swept the Johnson and Wales Wildcats in a two-game series, finishing with a total run differential of +11. The Lemon and Black took the first contest, 7-5, before putting together an impressive 15-6 victory. In game two, RMC recorded a season-high 15 hits, including eight-or-more in their first eight games of the season. Furthermore, after posting five runs in both the fourth and fifth inning, the Yellow Jackets set new single-inning season-high marks.
 
Over the weekend, Randolph-Macon split an afternoon doubleheader against #22 Shenandoah in its second ODAC series of the 2026 season. In RMC's game one win, RMC extended its streak of eight-or-more hits to nine. In handing Shenandoah its first loss of the season, Randolph-Macon held Shenandoah to a season-low one run, thanks to the ODAC Pitcher of the Week, Carter Schuma (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal).
 
Randolph-Macon now sits at 7-3 through 10 games, with wins in four of their last five. Three qualified batters currently have a an OPS greater than .850, slugging percentage higher than .425, and batting average above .425.

Randolph-Macon travels to Rocky Mount, N.C. to take on North Carolina Wesleyan University on Thursday, March 12 at 3:00 p.m.
