ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball took down #2 Mary Washington, 85-74, behind a career high 24 point afternoon by
Liam Joyce (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic).

How it Happened:
- Randolph-Macon started the game with a trio of three-pointers, as Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) nailed two and Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) knocked down the final one and the Yellow Jackets took an early 9-2 lead. Ulysses Young brought the Eagles within two points with back-to-back jumpers and Mary Washington cut the deficit to 9-7 with 15:57 on the clock. The Lemon and Black kept a slim lead for the next five minutes answering baskets by Mary Washington and held a 20-16 lead with 10:26 left in the half. Robinson extended the lead for Randolph-Macon with six straight points and with 9:46 on the clock, the Yellow Jackets led 26-16. Jadon Burgess and Young kept the Eagles in the game with five straight points and with 5:14 left in the half, Randolph-Macon held a 32-28 lead. Jack Loyd (Fairfax, Va./Flint Hill) soon after nailed a triple from the top of the key and gave the Yellow Jackets some breathing room, leading 35-28. The half was capped off by a Joyce lay-up with :02 seconds on the clock, giving Randolph-Macon a 41-31 lead at the break.
- The second half started with the Yellow Jackets scoring 12 out of the first 18 points and a Doran Clausell (Washington, D.C./Banneker) lay-up shot Randolph-Macon into a 53-37 lead with 15:38 on the clock. Mary Washington started to find rhythm on the offensive side of the court, scoring eight straight points and cutting the RMC lead to 53-45 with 13:33 left in the game. Joyce started to find room in the paint with six straight points, as the Eagles kept pace, but a Robinson three ball brought Crenshaw to life and the lead grew to 62-50 for RMC. Joyce would stay hot, as every shot he put up found the bottom of the net, a Ty Showalter (Charlotte, N.C./Butler) three-pointer capped off the short runs and with 5:57 left in the game, Randolph-Macon led 69-54. Robinson made a pair of free throws with 3:18 left in the game, Yellow Jackets leading 77-60. Mary Washington extended the game with fouls and full court pressure, but Randolph-Macon executed down the stretch for a 85-74 victory.

- Randolph-Macon shot 60.0 percent from the floor, as Mary Washington knocked down 40.0 percent of its shots.
- The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Eagles 29-to-28 in the entire game.

- Pulley Jr. was the final player to end the game in double figures with 11 points. The senior tied the team lead with six assists to go with his three rebounds and two steals.
- Showalter scored eight points in eight minutes on the floor.
- Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardey Kell) dished out six assists to go with his six points and three rebound game.
