FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has released the preseason softball poll for the 2026 season and Randolph-Macon has been picked third.

Reigning conference champion Virginia Wesleyan was picked first, receiving 100 points and ten first place votes. Bridgewater is picked to be the second-best team in the conference, seeing 87 points and the final first place vote. The Yellow Jackets were placed close behind the Eagles into third place with 83 points. Lynchburg would sit in the fourth spot with 73 points and Roanoke rounded out the top five with 67 points. 

Shenandoah and Averett are slotted in the sixth and seventh spots, with the Hornets having 49 points and the Cougars with 47 points. Guilford (36), Randolph (26), Sweet Briar (19) and Eastern Mennonite (18) are the final four teams ranked in the poll.  

Randolph-Macon will open the season on February 21 for a double-header against Mary Washington at home.
