FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced the 2025-26 all-conference basketball teams. The Lemon and Black have three players represented, with two returners and one newcomer.
McKenzie Matheny (Fairfax Station, Va./West Springfield) has been named to the All-ODAC First Team in each of her two seasons in the conference. The senior is currently averaging career-highs in points per game (14.0) and rebounds per game (10.5), good for eighth and third in the conference respectively. This past week, she delivered a season-high 24 points on 11 field goals made, the most she has racked up in 2025-26. Additionally, thanks to her 16 rebounds in the contest, she tallied her 15th double-double of the season becoming, the fourth player in program history to reach the mark in a single season.
Sam Smith (Chesterfield, Va./St. Gertrudes) has been selected to the All-ODAC Second Team for the second consecutive year, after being named the ODAC Rookie of the Year in her first season. Smith is averaging career-highs in points per game (11.4), rebounds per game (4.8) and assists per game (4.6), with her assists per game mark leading the ODAC. The junior has posted multiple steals in seven of her last eight games, including four-or-more in each of her past three, pushing her into the conference top-10 in steals per game (2.2). The guard is also knocking down 33.8 percent of her shots, including an ODAC top-five 33.1 from three, both good for career-highs.
Erin Porter (Virginia Beach, Va./Kettle Run) was named to the All-ODAC Second Team, earning the first all-conference appearance of her career. Porter is averaging career-highs in points per game (13.3), rebounds per game (2.8) and assists per game (1.2), over her career-high 29.8 minutes per game. She ranks fourth in the conference in three-pointers made (51) and triples made per game (2.0), leading her to an incredible 41.0 percent shooting throughout the season. The sophomore totaled a career-high 28 points against (RV) Catholic earlier in the season, canning six shots from downtown on a 50.0 percent clip.
Second-seeded Randolph-Macon will head to Salem, Virginia, to play third-seeded Bridgewater in the ODAC Semifinals at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets travel to Salem after winning each of their last 10 games, with an average winning margin of 12.4 points per game over the span.
