GREENSBORO, N.C. - Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball used key second half scoring run to run past Guilford 83-73 on the road.

How it Happened:
- Guilford jumped out to an early 6-2 in the opening minutes of the game. Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine./Langley) and Brady Lam (Ruckersville, Va./William Monroe) nailed back-to-back three balls to help the Yellow Jackets tie up the game at 8-8 with 16:32 left in the half. The Quakers scored the next five points to take the lead back at 14-8 with just over sixteen minutes on the clock. Randolph-Macon battled back and Oliver Jones (Middletown, Del./South Kent Prep) made a lay-up with 13:02 on the clock, giving the first lead of the game to RMC at 17-16. The teams traded the lead and baskets before Guilford used free throws to gain a 25-21 lead with 8:08 on the clock. Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) jump started a 7-0 run for the Lemon and Black with a lay-up plus the foul shot, RMC taking the lead back at 28-25. Areikat knocked down two free throws to show a 34-27 lead for Randolph-Macon with 4:22 left in the half. The Quakers kept the game close with six straight points to trail 34-33 with 1:31 on the clock. Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) and Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) had back-to-back lay-ups and Hammonds added a free throw at the end of the half, giving Randolph-Macon a 39-33 lead at halftime.
- In the second half, Randolph-Macon held a two possession lead for the opening five minutes, leading 48-43 with 15:34 on the clock. Guilford saw Tripp McMillen make two straight buckets to help dwindle the Yellow Jacket lead back to one point at 51-50. The Lemon and Black finally strung together great play on both sides of the court, outscoring Guilford 13-0 for almost three minutes. Robinson led the scoring with seven points, RMC led 64-50 with 10:09 left in regulation. Jones gave Randolph-Macon its biggest lead of the game two separate times (18 points) with lay-ups and with 7:54 on the clock the lead was 73-55. Guilford battled back but the big run in the second half sent Randolph-Macon home with a 83-73 victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- Randolph-Macon shot 44.3 percent from the floor, as Guilford knocked down 39.3 percent of its shots.
- The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Quakers 53-to-34 in the entire game.
- Robinson led the Lemon and Black in scoring with 15 points. The senior also had four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
- Hodges scored 12 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals.
- Areikat also ended the game with 12 points for the Yellow Jackets.
- Hammonds was the final player in double figures with 10 points. The sophomore also pulled down six rebounds and assisted a basket.
- Jones scored eight points, had two steals and a rebound in the game.
- Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) pulled down nine rebounds to go with seven points.
