#5 Men's Hoops Hits 14 Triples in Dominant Victory over Bridgewater


ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball scored 63 second half points to cruise past Bridgewater 103-47 on Wednesday night.  

The Basics:

Score: #5 Randolph-Macon 103, Bridgewater 47

How it Happened:
  • Randolph-Macon jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage, using a three-pointer by Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep). The Eagles kept the game close early, as Moustapha Diop made a driving lay-up to cut the Yellow Jacket lead to 16-11 with 11:53 on the clock. The Lemon and Black scored eight straight points, using four points each by Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) and Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) and increased their lead to 24-11 with 8:50 left in the half. In the later stages of the half, Theo Antinori (Asheville, N.C./Rabun Gap) scored four straight points and gave Randolph-Macon a 20 point lead at 37-17. Bridgewater had Matt Hain score a three ball for the final points of the half and the Lemon and Black carried a 40-20 lead into halftime. 
  • In the second half, Bridgewater kept the deficit to 20 points in the opening minutes and forced a Randolph-Macon timeout with the score at 56-35 with 14:17 left in regulation. The Yellow Jackets came out of the timeout and scored 12 consecutive points, highlighted by Theartis Battle (Baltimore, Md./John Carroll) totalling five points and increased the RMC lead to 68-35. Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) and Robinson accounted for three straight triples to jump the Lemon and Black lead to 79-37 with 8:06 left on the clock. The offense continued its dominance with an Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine./Langley) three ball to send the lead for Randolph-Macon to 92-40. Doran Clausell (Washington, D.C./Banneker) sent the Yellow Jackets over 100 points with a bucket with 1:21 on the clock, RMC scored 63 points in the second half and defeated Bridgewater 103-47.   
Inside the Numbers:
  • Randolph-Macon shot 63.9 percent from the floor, as Bridgewater knocked down 32.6 percent of its shots. 
  • The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Eagles 36-to-22 in the entire game.
  • Randolph-Macon's bench outscored the Bridgewater bench 57-to-9 in the game. 
  • The Lemon and Black had 32 points off of Eagle turnovers. 
  • Pulley Jr. led the Lemon and Black in scoring with 15 points. The senior went 5-for-7 from behind the arc, pulled down three rebounds and had a steal. 
  • Antinori ended the game with 14 points, three assists, one rebound and a steal for the Yellow Jackets. 
  • Robinson scored 10 points, dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds and blocked a shot in the game. 
  • Battle recorded 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. 
  • Areikat and Hodges both scored nine points for the Lemon and Black. 
  • Oliver Jones (Middletown, Del./South Kent Prep) led the team in steals with four to go along with his five point night. 
  • Hammonds was the leader in assists in the game with five and he also scored four points. 
For the Record:
  • Pulley Jr. moved past Calvin Croskey'12 into fourth in career three-pointers made with 193. 
  • Robinson moved past Mike LaGuardia'00 into ninth in career three-pointers made with 169. 
  • The 103 points was the first time Randolph-Macon scored over 100 points in Crenshaw Gym since 2/12/22 against Shenandoah (102).
