How it Happened
- In the first 10 minutes neither team could gain any kind of offensive momentum. In the 15th minute, Ally Spangler (Daleville, Va./Lord Botetourt) sent a beautiful through ball to Alexa Stohr (Fredericksburg, Md./Massaponax) beating the Green Terror keeper. The Yellow Jackets used a great offensive buildup to gain a 1-0 lead.
- The two teams traded possessions back and forth for the next 20 minutes until, Alexis Keller-Posen netted the equalizer. The Green Terror used the equalizer to take a 1-1 score into halftime.
- Randolph-Macon came out of halftime wasting no time, Spangler took a deep shot in the 46th minute, that was saved by the McDaniel keeper Mack Langlo. McDaniel turned the great defensive play into offense, as Alina Miller scored the go-ahead goal two minutes later.
- Miller delivered another strike shortly after to extend their lead to 3-1. The Lemon and Black tried to get their offense going, but the Green Terror backline was too solid to let any ball through.
