FOREST, Va. – Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) and Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) have been named the first ever Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's tennis doubles team of the week, the conference announced.

Randolph-Macon had its opening match of the season at home at the Banks Tennis Center. The Yellow Jackets earned a clutch 4-3 victory against Gettysburg College, opening the season with a 1-0 record.

Mowry and Thurman began their seasons with a victory in first doubles against Gabby Mazzeo and Eden Levkov from the Bullets with a score of 6-4. The duo was trailing in the set, 4-1, before winning five-straight games to complete the comeback.

With women's tennis not active over the first two weeks of the season, Mowry and Thurman have been awarded the first ODAC doubles weekly award for women's tennis ever. This is Thurman's second weekly honor (2024) and Mowry's first.

The doubles #1 pairing and the women's tennis team will return to action this Saturday, when they head to St. Mary's City, Maryland, to take on the Seahawks. First serve is set for noon.
