How it Happened
- RMC looked aggressive in the first quarter, registering the first six penalty corners of the game. Additionally, Neely Winefordner (Glen Allen, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) attempted two penalty strokes, but the score remained 0-0 after Barton closed the quarter with two penalty corners.
- Under three minutes into the second frame of play, RMC registered back-to-back penalty corners. Despite unsuccessful attempts, Brenna McLean (Rock Hall, Md./Queen Anne's County) registered her first goal of the season, assisted by Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb), putting RMC up 1-0. The Jackets went on to hold Barton without a shot for the last 10 minutes of play before halftime.
- The Lemon and Black came out aggressive scoring two goals in the quarter off the sticks of Samantha Major (Newport News, Va./Menchville) and Llana Thach (Henrico, Va./Glen Allen). Even with the 3-0 lead, the Yellow Jackets out-shot the Bulldogs 4-1 in the rest of the third.
- Randolph Macon appeared to stick to the plan to close out the game, posting four penalty corners while holding Barton to none. Winefordner notched her fourth and fifth shots of the game, helping the road team to a victory.
Inside the Numbers

- Thach recorded her third consecutive game with a goal. With a goal against Meredith on Saturday, she will tie her career-high four-game scoring streak that opened the season last year.
