WINCHESTER, Va. – Seniors Sophia Hanson (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove) and Kierra Parsons (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) have been honored on the 2025 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State swim teams. Hanson receives first team honors while Parsons has been tabbed on the second team.
 
Hanson earns her first all-state recognition of her career in the breaststroke category. The senior concluded her career in dramatic fashion, winning the 100-yard breastroke at the ODAC Championships with a time of 1:05.90. In that same event, Hanson had six podium finishes with three regular season wins. She also captured three wins in the 200-yard breaststroke on the season. Hanson was part of the record-breaking 400-yard medley relay team that grabbed a podium finish at the ODAC Championships with a time of 3:58.76. Her effort at the ODAC Championships earned her All-ODAC First Team recognition.
 
Parsons picks up her second all-state honor of her career after being tabbed to the second team in 2023. The Pennsylvania native gets recognized for her efforts in the free sprint category. Parsons took a second-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 27.40 at the ODAC Championships to secure her third career All-ODAC recognition. Also during the ODAC Championships, Parsons helped the 800 free relay team break the school record with a time of 7:48.25.
