ASHLAND, Va. – Junior
William Wian (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) tossed a seven-inning complete game with six strikeouts as the Randolph-Macon baseball team registered an 11-1 ODAC victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the first. Sophomore Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) was hit by a pitch, stole second, went to third on a single by junior Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) and came home on a fielder's choice by senior Chaz Harvey (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School) to make it 1-0.
- RMC took control with five runs in the second. Sophomore James Baffone (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) had a leadoff single and stole second. After a walk to freshman Brian Fleming (Rehoboth, Del./Cape Henlopen), freshman CJ Chatterton (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) doubled to knock in both runners and make it 3-0. Chatterton went to third on a wild pitch and scored when Bowles reached on an error to extend the lead to 4-0. Bowles touched home after a throw to the infield following a single by senior Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) to make it 5-0. Schmitt walked and scored on an error to push the advantage to 6-0.
- Lautenschlager had a leadoff triple in the fourth and came in on a groundout by Harvey as the lead grew to 7-0.
- After the Marlins tallied a run in the top of the sixth, the Yellow Jackets answered in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) reached on a two-out error, went to third on a single by Baffone and scored when Fleming reached on an error. Baffone came home on a wild pitch to make it 9-1.
- Schmitt drew a leadoff walk in the seventh and scored on a double by Lautenschlager for a 10-1 lead. A base hit by Harvey brought in Lautenschlager and ended the game at 11-1.

- Wian went 7.0 innings with seven hits, one run, one walk and six strikeouts to raise his record to 4-1.
- Harvey went 1 for 5 with three RBI.
- Lautenschlager was a homer short of the cycle with two runs and one RBI.
