#12 Men's Hoops Defeats SU with Five in Double Figures

WINCHESTER, Va. – Five different players scored in double figures led by Keishawn Pulley Jr. and Liam Joyce as Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball held off Shenandoah to win 73-60 on the road.

How it Happened
  • Theo Antinori (Asheville, N.C./Rabun Gap) returned to the starting lineup and scored the first bucket of the game just 15 seconds in. Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) flushed home a dunk to cap an 11-2 run for the Jackets to give them a 13-4 lead. The lead reached double digits at 19-9 before the Hornets trimmed the deficit down to five at 28-23. RMC ignited an 8-2 run to build the lead back to 11 with 2:41 to go until half. The Yellow Jackets led 39-28 at the halftime break.
  • Three pointers by Antinori and Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) helped RMC build a 51-37 early in the second half. Shenandoah didn't back down, cutting the deficit down to six once again at 58-52. With 3:10 remaining in the second half, the lead got down to four points, but Pulley Jr. knocked down a pair of threes to help seal the deal for the Yellow Jackets as they went on to win 73-60.
Inside the Numbers
  • Pulley Jr. and Liam Joyce (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) led the Yellow Jackets with 14 points each. Pully Jr. also had four assists and three rebounds. Joyce shot 6-7 from the field and had three rebounds.
  • Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine/Langley), Robinson, and Hodges each scored in double figures.
  • Hodges finished with three steals and a block to add onto four rebounds and three assists.
  • RMC finished with just four turnovers.
  • The Yellow Jackets knocked down 11 threes and were a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.
