How it Happened
- Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) opened the game with a jumper in the lane, which sparked a 9-2 run in the first four minutes of the game. Lynchburg brought it back to tie the score at 10. RMC later added a 6-0 run to extend their lead out to 24-16. That lead grew out to 13 at 31-18 with two minutes to go until half. The Hornets hit a three with 18 seconds to go in the frame to cut the deficit to 10 at halftime, 33-23.
- Over the first seven minutes of the second half, Lynchburg used strong defense to cut the lead down to four at 39-35. Three pointers by Theo Antinori (Asheville, N.C./Rabun Gap) and Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) helped the Yellow Jackets get back on track to push the lead back to double-digits. RMC began to force turnovers by the Hornets, which led to a stretch of baskets for the Jackets, helping them build a 20-point lead with 6:45 remaining. The largest the lead got was 28, as RMC closed out an 80-55 win.

- Robinson led all scorers with 18 points on 7-10 shooting and 4-7 from three.
- Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) neared a triple-double, posting 11 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.
- Antinori was a perfect 3-3 from deep as he finished with 13 points off the bench.
- Hodges was the final RMC player in double figures with 10 points.
- RMC forced 18 turnovers while only having seven turnovers as a team.
- The Jackets' defense finished with 12 steals and three blocks. They held the Hornets to just 34.6% from the field and 22% from deep.
