Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) led all scorers with 24 points and three different Yellow Jackets recorded career-marks as Randolph-Macon men's basketball toppled #8 Hampden-Sydney 85-50.

How it Happened:
- Hampden-Sydney started the scoring with a three ball by Peter Moye on its first possession, taking the lead 3-0. The Yellow Jackets answered with a furious 11-0 run led by Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) with four points, giving the lead to Randolph-Macon at 11-3 with 14:55 left in the first half. The Tigers ended their scoring drought with a free throw by Shane Fernald and a pull up jumper by Colin Radcliffe. Randolph-Macon would again respond, knocking down four straight shots for an 8-0 run, Robinson headlining with six points and increasing its lead to 19-8 with 9:38 left on the clock. In the final portion of the first half the Lemon and Black forced six turnovers and outscored Hampden-Sydney 18-11, shooting 7-for-13 (.538) from the field. Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) and Robinson led the scoring with five points each. Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) pushed the lead to 20 points with a lay-up with :11 seconds left in the half, sending the Yellow Jackets to halftime with a 37-17 lead.
- In the second half, Randolph-Macon did not let up offensively, scoring nine of the first 11 points. Pulley Jr. nailed a three-pointer with 17:46 on the clock and the Lemon and Black lead ballooned to 46-19. Travis Stickney and Moye buried back-to-back three balls, but Randolph-Macon would quiet the small run with three straight baskets by Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine./Langley), Hammonds and Pulley Jr. to show a 52-25 lead for RMC with 15:00 left in regulation. Hampden-Sydney showed life for the next six minutes, cutting into the Yellow Jacket lead and forcing a timeout with 7:16 on the clock with the Lemon and Black still ahead 63-43. Randolph-Macon came out of the timeout on a mission, outscoring the Tigers 22-7 until the final horn sounded, taking down Hampden-Sydney by a score of 85-50.
Inside the Numbers:
- Randolph-Macon shot 56.3 percent from the floor, as Hampden-Sydney knocked down 33.3 percent of its shots.
- The Tigers outrebounded the Yellow Jackets 34-to-28 in the entire game.
- The Lemon and Black forced 27 Hampden-Sydney turnovers in the 40 minute game.
- Robinson scored a season high 24 points, going 10-of-15 from the floor. The senior tied his career mark in made field goals (10) and his four steals was also a season best.
- Ty Showalter (Charlotte, N.C./Butler) was impressive off the bench for the Yellow Jackets with 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. The sophomore had a career high in made field goals with six, also tying his career marks in points (13) and blocked shots (2).
- Hammonds ended the game with 11 points, five assists, five steals and two rebounds in 26 minutes. The sophomore had a career high with the five steals and back-to-back games recording five assists.
- Liam Joyce (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) and Theo Antinori (Asheville, N.C./Rabun Gap) each scored ten points. Antinori tied his career mark in steals with the four in the game.
- Pulley Jr. had nine points, two steals, two assists and shot 4-of-7 from the field for the Lemon and Black.
For the Record:
- This is the widest margin of victory (35) for Randolph-Macon against Hampden-Sydney since 2/6/19
- Randolph-Macon has not held the Tigers to 50 or less points since 1/18/18 when Hampden-Sydney also recorded 50 points.
