FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has released its preseason coaches' poll for the 2025-26 season and Randolph-Macon has been picked second. The Yellow Jackets received 108 points and two first-place votes in the process.
Washington and Lee were picked at the top of the standings, as the Generals have won two ODAC titles in the past three seasons. WLU made a trip to the Second Round of the NCAA tournament, falling 71-75 to Baldwin Wallace. WLU received 10 first-place votes to total 120 points. The Yellow Jackets took home the final two first-place votes, totaling 108 points for second. Bridgewater holds the third spot with 102 points, as the Eagles round out the top three.
Roanoke was selected fourth with 91 points and Shenandoah rounds out the top five with 74 points.
Guilford slots sixth with 70 points and Lynchburg totaled 59 points which was good for seventh. Just five points behind the Hornets were Hollins with 54 points, followed by 39 points from Virginia Wesleyan. The final three slots of the poll are occupied by Randolph (29 points), Eastern Mennonite (28) and Averett (18).
This past season, the Lemon and Black earned their fifth NCAA Sweet 16 appearance after winning their 11
th ODAC Tournament Championship. This is RMC's first ODAC Tournament victory since 2020 and the first for Head Coach
Lindsey Burke-Eberhart. Randolph-Macon went 16-0 in conference play last year. The 2024-25 team joined the 2004-05 team as the only two RMC women's basketball programs to go undefeated in ODAC play (min. five games played).
The Yellow Jackets open the season on Saturday, November 8, when they travel to Carlisle, Pa., to take on Dickinson College at 4:00 p.m.
