GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Guilford moving to 4-0 in conference play.

How it Happened
- Through the first 30 minutes of the half, both teams traded possessions. Randolph-Macon's offense came alive in the 33rd minute, tallying seven shots. Three shots on frame came from Caroline Blanchard (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox), Maddie Stubblefield (Mechanicsville, Va./Mechanicsville) and Ariel Farmer (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) but the Guilford keeper kept the game level and the teams headed into halftime knotted at 0-0.
- The Yellow Jackets' offense picked up where it left off and in the 52nd minute, Stubblefield connected with Abigail Pesut (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam), heading the ball into the middle of the net breaking the deadlock. Kaylie Scherer (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) and Farmer continued to test keeper Madison Motto.
- In the 63rd minute, Emma Owens (Kernersville, N.C./East Forsyth) connected with Ally Spangler (Daleville, Va./Lord Botetourt) who booted it into the net, doubling RMC's lead on a failed clearance attempt from GC. The Yellow Jackets backline anchored by Erin Morris (Manchester, N.H./ Bishop Guertin) held strong and kept them from scoring and the Yellow Jackets closed out the match with a 2-0 victory.

- RMC outshot GC 20-9 overall; the Yellow Jackets also held a 12-5 advantage for shots on frame.
- The Quakers had the upper hand in corner kicks, recording four to the Yellow Jackets' three.
- Pesut scored her first goal of the season and her first career match-winning goal.
- Stubblefield and Owens each recorded one assist during the game.
- Farmer led the RMC with four shots overall and three on goal.
- Morris earned her ninth career shutout while making five saves. Today's shutout is her fourth shutout of the season.
