VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team traveled to Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday evening for their final road matchup of the season, where they ended up falling 5-0.

How it Happened
- The Yellow Jackets came out strong in the first half, grabbing the first offensive chance of the game just two minutes in on a shot from Caroline Blanchard (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox). The Marlins sent shots at senior keeper Erin Morris (Manchester, N.H./Bishop Guertin) twice in the first half, once in the 14th minute and again in the 23rd minute, which she pushed both chances away. In the 42nd minute, Ally Quigley (Broadlands, Va./Briar Woods) had an opportunity to grab the lead but VWU keeper Riley Keefe made the save, keeping the match level. The two teams remained deadlocked heading into halftime tied 0-0.
- The Marlins picked up the offensive intensity in the second half with two shots early that forced Morris to make a save. In the 65th minute, VWU opened up the scoring when Shyenne Diaz connected with Alexis Manfredi, going up 1-0. The Marlins rattled off back-to-back goals within two minutes of each other, one in the 68th minute and another in the 70th, to extend their lead to 3-0.
- RMC traded possessions with VWU but in the 83rd minute, the Marlins added to the lead after Courtney Mills slotted a pass from Grace Engelbert, grabbing a 4-0 lead.
- Virginia Wesleyan's Charlotte Gantt scored one final goal to close out the game in the 87th minute, giving the Marlins a 5-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
