How It Happened:
- With one away in the bottom of the first, the Panther batter was called out at first on a grounder to short. The umpires met and the call was changed to safe at first. The Yellow Jackets challenged and the safe call was upheld. That opened the door for a three-run first.
- BSC added one in the third before RMC manufactured a two-out rally in the fifth. Bush had a two-out double to left center and scored on a triple to right by sophomore Eli Brooks (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen). A base hit by sophomore Jordan Hill (Norfolk, Va./Granby) knocked in Brooks to make it 4-2.
- RMC would tie the game in the seventh. Senior Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) was hit by a pitch and stole second. Bush was also plunked. Myers stole third and scored on a base hit by freshman Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) to make it 4-3. Bush went to third on the Quici single and came home on an infield hit by Schmitt to level the score at 4-4.
- The Yellow Jackets took their first lead in the eighth. Senior Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) had a leadoff single and was sacrificed to second by junior Chaz Harvey (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School), his first sacrifice hit of the season. Webb went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a base hit to center by Myers to put RMC on top 5-4. Bush singled to right to send Myers to third. Following a sac bunt by Brooks that moved Bush to second, both Myers and Bush would score on wild pitches to give the Yellow Jackets a 7-4 advantage.
- BSC rallied to score three in the eighth and win it with two in the ninth for the 9-7 victory.
