Women's Lacrosse Falls in ODAC Semis at Washington and Lee


LEXINGTON, Va. – The women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in the ODAC semifinals to top-seeded and eighth-ranked Washington and Lee on the road, as Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) recorded the lone goal for the Yellow Jackets.

How It Happened
  • The Generals controlled the first quarter, scoring the first seven goals of the game to take a 7-0 lead with 5:01 left. Bartley tallied a goal for Randolph-Macon goal at the 2:50 mark of the quarter, as Washington and Lee tacked on one more goal to take a 8-1 lead into the second quarter. 
  • In the second quarter, Washington and Lee kept control of the game, outscoring the Lemon and Black 6-0, taking a 14-1 lead into the halftime break. 
  • The Generals added a solo goal in the third quarter to increase their lead to 15-1, heading into the final 15 minutes. 
  • In the fourth quarter, Washington and Lee added four more goals to take home a 19-1 victory. 
By The Numbers
  • Bartley scored the lone goal for the Yellow Jackets. 
  • Abi Detrich (Federalsburg, Md./Easton) scooped up two ground balls for Randolph-Macon and caused a turnover. 
  • Laila Omar (Annandale, Va./Falls Church) and Elaina Creekmore (Pasadena, Md./Old Mill) each caused a turnover in the game. Omar also picked up a ground ball for the Lemon and Black.  
  • Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) and Amanda Maxwell (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) each recorded a ground ball on the evening.  
  • Senior Emma Taylor (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) recorded ten saves.
For The Record
  • The fourteen overall wins is the most in a season since the 2015 season and the six conference wins is the most since the 2019 season.
