Ray Hedrick tied Hugh Stephens for the program record for career wins with 459 as the Randolph-Macon baseball team edged Wilmington 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets loaded the bases in the top of the first with two away but could not dent home plate. RMC got runners into scoring position in the second and third but were unable to score.
- The Quakers broke the scoreless deadlock with an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth for a 1-0 advantage.
- RMC would respond in the sixth. With two away, sophomore Eli Brooks (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) reached on a bunt single and went to second on a base hit by freshman Jon Quici (Philadelphia, Pa./Conestoga). A single by freshman Zach Wernoski (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) brought home Brooks to tie the game at 1-1. Junior Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudon Valley) had a base hit that drove in Quici as the Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 edge.
- The Yellow Jackets would add to their lead in the seventh. Senior Richie Dudley (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) had a one-out double and scored on a pinch-hit single off the bat of senior Anthony Farmakides (Falls Church, Va./McLean) with two away to make it 3-1. Senior Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) pinch-ran for Farmakides and went to second on a single by Brooks. Following a pitching change, a base hit by Quici brought home Myers to give RMC a 4-1 advantage.
- WC plated two in the eighth but came up one run short.

- Freshman Carter Schuma (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) pitched the first three innings in his collegiate debut with one hit, no walks and four strikeouts.
- Senior Wyatt Stanley (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) earned the win in relief, going 4.0 innings with three hits, one earned run, two walks and six punchouts to even his record at 1-1.
- Senior Patrick Routsis (Midlothian, Va./St. Christopher's) fanned two in the eighth to keep it a one-run game.
- Junior Sam Slevin (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank Cox) struck out three in a scoreless ninth to record his second save.
- Quici went 3 for 5 with one run and one RBI.
- Brooks was 3 for 5 with a run.
- Senior Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) also had three hits.
- Lautenschlager was 2 for 5 with a double and one RBI.
