ASHLAND, Va. – Due to predicted inclement weather and travel plans for Alvernia, the Randolph-Macon baseball team has moved its season-opening doubleheader to Sunday, Feb.18.
The Yellow Jackets and Golden Wolves will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.
RMC was picked third in the ODAC preseason poll and received votes in the 2024 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Preseason Top 25.
The Yellow Jackets went 32-15 a season ago and posted the third-highest win total in program history. RMC earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and was ranked No. 25 in the final 2023 D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. The Yellow Jackets were 16-6 in ODAC play, tied for third in the conference standings.
Alvernia went 28-20 in 2023, including 15-9 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. RMC swept a doubleheader from the Golden Wolves a season ago, 2-0 and 6-4.
