– Defense was the key for #4 RMC men's basketball as the Yellow Jackets cruised to a 64-40 win over Ferrum to extend the win streak to 15 games.

How it Happened:
- Ferrum scored the first two points of the game, but from that point, RMC completely dominated. Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) and Charlie Thornton (Radnor, Pa./Radnor) knocked down a pair of threes each as the Yellow Jackets ignited a 19-0 run and a 27-2 run that gave them a huge lead with eight minutes to go in the first. RMC led 31-7 before Ferrum got some offense going to end the half on a 10-2 run as the RMC halftime lead was 33-17.
- RMC stormed out to a 7-2 run to start the second half and both teams traded buckets throughout the second half. Will Coble (Greensboro, N.C./Davidson Day) hit a pair of threes to keep the RMC lead greater than 20 points. Samuel Brannen (Suffolk, Va./King's Fork) had a seven-point spurt in the final 1:40 as RMC continued to roll to a 64-40 win.
Inside the Numbers:
- Margad Choijilsuren (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) was the only RMC player in double-figures with 11 points on 5-8 shooting. He also finished with eight rebounds.
- RMC had four players with exactly eight points.
- Daniel Mbangue kept on pace for his season averages, finishing with eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
- RMC improves to 18-0 all-time against Ferrum and 10-0 in Ashland.
- The Yellow Jackets have now outrebounded the two top rebounding teams in the ODAC by a combined +32 over the last two games, including outrebounding the Panthers 43-27 today.
- RMC shot 8-19 (42%) from three, marking the eighth game this season that the Yellow Jackets have shot 40% from deep.
- Ferrum was held to just 40 points, which stands as the seventh time this season that an opponent has been held under 50 points and the 18 time since the beginning of last season.
