ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon football, ranked #15 in the NCAA Power Index (NPI), will host #23 Washington and Jefferson in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Football Championship on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 12 p.m. at Day Field.
 
Both teams earned byes in the first round of the playoffs.
 
The Yellow Jackets went 9-1 during the regular season. RMC was 7-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs.
 
The Presidents were 9-1 this season, with all games in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, also earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. W&J is located in Washington, Pa., near Pittsburgh.
 
RMC is 1-4 all-time against W&J. The initial meeting came in the first NCAA Playoff game for the Yellow Jackets in 1984. The Presidents rallied in the fourth quarter to edge the Yellow Jackets 22-21. RMC won at W&J 21-7 in 1986, while the Presidents posted wins in Ashland in 1987 and 1999 along with a home win in 2000.

RMC is participating in the NCAA Playoffs for the third consecutive year. This will be the seventh appearance in the NCAA Championship for the Yellow Jackets and sixth under head coach Pedro Arruza. RMC reached the semifinals in 2023.
