BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team used a goal in each half to take down Bridgewater for the first time since 2019 with a score of 2-0.

How it Happened
- In the first ten minutes neither team was able to have a sustainable run at goal to break the game open. In the 12th minute, Laura Narby made a run towards the Randolph-Macon goal and Erin Morris (Manchester, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made a confident save to keep the game at 0-0.
- Bridgewater kept the pressure on the Yellow Jacket defense and managed to grab the first corner opportunity of the game. Skyler Daum sent in a header from the right side of the post and Morris made another clutch save to punch the ball out of danger.
- In the 17th minute, Randolph-Macon had their first true run at the Eagles defensive zone. Lauren Brokaw (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) sent in a shot with her left foot but her shot was stopped by Rylee Asiello.
- The Lemon and Black defensive line blocked multiple shots on Bridgewater attacks in the middle of the first half to keep the score locked scoreless.
- Randolph-Macon broke through in the 33rd minute, as Brokaw took the deflected pass and used her left foot to beat Asiello to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- Morris made a crucial diving save in the 38th minute with a shot by Narby and was able to collect the rebound to keep Randolph-Macon in front 1-0, heading into the halftime break..
- In the 52nd minute off of a corner kick, Lillian Holt (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) collected the free ball and from outside of the box nailed her first goal of the season. The goal doubled the Yellow Jacket lead to 2-0, heading into the final thirty minutes of the game.
- Randolph-Macon stopped every attack by the Eagles in the final thirty minutes of the game to take home a 2-0 victory.

- Bridgewater had 28 shots in the game, compared to the 10 that Randolph-Macon tallied. The Eagles put seven shots on frame to the Yellow Jackets four in 90 minutes.
- Both teams were able to collect five corner opportunities in the match.
- Brokaw scored her seventh goal of the season to tie her career high.
- Holt notched her first goal of her senior season in the second half.
- Morris made six saves in 90 minutes for the Yellow Jackets.
For the Record
- This is the first time Randolph-Macon has beaten the Eagles since the 2019 season.
- The 2-0 win is the largest margin of victory over Bridgewater since 2007, as the Yellow Jackets won 2-0 in Ashland. The margin of victory is the largest at Bridgewater since the 2004 season.
