LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team took the lead early in the first half with a goal by
Abigail Pesut (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam), but Washington and Lee would rattle off four straight goals to take home the victory 4-1.

How it Happened
- The game started quickly for both teams in the first five minutes, as Zoe Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had to make two quick saves to keep the Generals off the board. Randolph-Macon was awarded a corner kick in the fifth minute to create an offensive threat. Lauren Brokaw (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) sent in a flat kick and Pesut headed in the ball to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- In the 23rd minute, Washington and Lee was awarded a penalty kick as the Lemon and Black fouled inside of the box. Sydney Devory nailed the penalty kick to tie up the game at 1-1.
- The defensive back line of Randolph-Macon would be tested for the final 20 minutes of the first half. The Generals sent five shots on goal and Long would answer the call each time to keep the game tied at 1-1 at halftime.
- In the 52nd minute, Avery Hannah had a breakaway for Washington and Lee and passed it over to Sarah Zimmerman who finished with a goal to give the Generals a 2-1 lead.
- Washington and Lee sent in a short corner that was sent in to Sarah Zimmerman that was denied a goal by a team save from Gracie Knisely (Disputanta, Va./Prince George) and Sarah Zimmerman buried the rebound. The Generals extended the lead to 3-1 in the 54th minute.
- Megan Zimmerman added the fourth goal of the game for the Generals in the 89th minute that was assisted by Emily Burke. That would conclude the game with a 4-1 victory for Washington and Lee.

- Washington and Lee had 31 shots in the game, compared to the five that Randolph-Macon tallied. The Generals put 15 shots on frame to the Yellow Jackets three in 90 minutes.
- The Generals held the advantage in corner opportunities with 11-to-1 advantage.
- Pesut scored her first goal of the season and had the lone goal for Randolph-Macon.
- Brokaw notched her sixth assist of the season on the Pesut goal.
- Long had a season high in saves with ten overall in 90 minutes.
