LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's soccer team took the lead early, but Lynchburg battled back to defeat the Yellow Jackets 4-1.

How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon took the lead in the first thirty seconds of the game. Lora Bertram (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) took a redirected ball off of a free kick to drive towards the Hornets goal. The senior sent a crossing pass into the box and Lauren Brokaw (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) finished with a goal, giving the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- The Hornets received a penalty kick opportunity in the ninth minute and McKenna Dahm beat Zoe Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) near the right post to tie the game up at 1-1.
- Lynchburg took its first lead of the game in the 24th minute, as Morgan Oliver settled the ball in the box, following a Long save for the Yellow Jackets. Oliver knocked the ball through for a goal to give the Hornets a 2-1 lead.
- The final 20 minutes of the first half saw both teams have opportunities to score, each goalkeeper stood up to each shot to keep the game at 2-1 with the Hornets leading at halftime.
- Lynchburg doubled its lead in the 47th minute, as Ella Tampio-Iorns scored just from outside of the box, giving the Hornets a 3-1 lead.
- Ava Olson added to the Hornet lead with an assisted goal by Madelyn Boyce in the 62nd minute for a 4-1 lead for Lynchburg.
- Randolph-Macon did not have many chances in the second half to cut into the Hornet deficit and ultimately would fall by a score of 4-1.
