How it Happened
- Four minutes into the game, RMC got the first penalty corner of the afternoon, but had nothing to show for it. From that point on in the first, Lynchburg had five penalty corners, which resulted in four shots, all of which were saved by either Ambrogi-Torres or the Yellow Jackets' defense.
- The Hornets put two shots on goal in the first three minutes of the second frame, and they finally broke through just under five minutes into the stanza to make it 1-0. RMC had some chances that ensued, but nothing to change the scoreboard. The Hornets went back on the attack, putting three more shots on goal before they scored their second goal of the game to make it 2-0, which stayed through the rest of the half.
- After neither team could generate many chances in the third quarter, Lynchburg picked up the momentum in the fourth. LYN put six shots on goal in the first 13 minutes of the fourth quarter, but once again, Ambrogi-Torres stayed strong in cage. With just over a minute left, RMC got a penalty corner and had a pair of chances, but the Hornets kept the shutout to win 2-0.
